Glad you posted; figure you know by now how much is out there on your unk's role in the 'gasser wars', the Ben Christ promotions that got your uncle out on tour in places from Portland, ME. to Puyallup, WA....that he was one of a handful of people to keep the legacy of hot rodding alive after Detroit and NHRA started force feeding us stockers...that he had a great rep as a winner and a gentleman. You do know all this stuff, right? Contact me; I'll do what I can to connect you with your legacy. Personally, I'd keep the leg............

I know somewhat about his role in gasser History. and Stone woods and Cook. He was big in the East Coast back 160-1990's and did most of his touring back in chirch hills va or thast where they said he was from, I learned anlot from him over the past few years, at his home in Southern California.
The sad news is his wife had to put him in an nurseing home in St louis MO. he started to fall down anlot and had problems walking, and remembering stuff, what is an shame the last time I talked with him he was telling me about shit i cant remember his name now. the flag man at the drag strips (the famous flag person) not liking KS because he thought he was cheating on the flag. (what he wasn't) and he said his favorate car was the Football bought from Big John. and then his opeal gt he drove.. I would like any feedback any of you may have about him..its always great to hear stories about KS and the people he touched.. I heard so much postive stuff about him from fans of drag racing all over the world.
BTW if you ever heard of Silas Pittman he used to build some of the motors for KS race cars and also his twin brother Paul, who was in the late 1960's gassers movement. and he had many great cars himself... paul died 2 years ago and silas died around 4 or so years ago.. I think KS is in his upper 70's

I'm going ask his wife if she can make me an copy of KS last run in 1991 or 1990 wher he just finished an new car and crashed it on his first run, due to some parts what broke when he lft the line..

He also was involved with drag boats. he set the record in his class on his first run. he was rookie of the year in his class and the oldest person to win rookie of the year. i think he was 65 or so.
